True Romance is a fast-paced, smart-mouthed film that keeps you on the edge of your seat and throws you in every direction.  Written by Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction) and directed by Tony Scott (Witness), this is a cool film.  Remember those films of the 80's that made you just want to have fun?  This is one of those at heart, but with a brain.  Christian Slater stars as a young Elvis-lovin' ("yeah, I'd fuck Elvis"), kung-fu lovin', and comic book lovin' type of guy that borders on crazy and eccentric.  One night, he falls in love with a girl (Patricia Arquette), Alabama, that's too good to be true.  She tells him the real reason she met him, and the story unfolds full of young love, vengeance, mentors, and a suitcase full of cocaine.  What a crazy ride it is.

Some neat things about this movie:

The ending in the movie is not the original written one.  In the script, one of the Worleys die.  But it was changed because Tony Scott liked these kids and wanted to see them get out alive.  He talked with Tarantino, and Scott agreed to shoot both endings.  He ended up going with the new ending.

So many people went on to become famous after this 1993 movie.  Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, Gary Oldman, Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer, and Michael Rapaport are all in this movie.  What a cast.
